Mural Arts Philadelphia

I created this for Mural Arts Philadelphia, the nation’s largest public art program, in collaboration with Wexford Science + Technology, the University City Science Center, Ventas, and People’s Emergency Center. The subject of this mural is the collaborative community of uCity Square with a specific focus on the University City Science Center where teenagers from local high schools and middle schools participate in hands-on experiments and STEM education in direct collaboration with professionals. In this mural a trompe l’oeil atrium breaks through the side of the building revealing a colorful group of figures that flows out of the windows, interconnects, collaborates, studies, and experiments. There is also imagery specific to this site; a community garden that previously sat on this spot and the Science Center’s collection of Buckminster Fuller sculptures.
